We’re open!

It’s time to pick up where you left off! Stay safe and Stay fit

Our team have been working very hard, to make sure the Club is safe and secure and ready for the re-opening on the 27 July. But we also need your help and understanding.

Here are some things you need to be aware of…

Ability to Check Busy Times

To help members make an informed decision as to when they want to visit the Club, we have added a ‘Club use’ insight to our App – FitSense. This allows you to check how busy the club is at a click of a button.

New Contactless Checking In & Out of the Club

To keep queuing to a minimum you will be able to check in & out from the FitSense App or scanning your own card. Entry will only be permitted with membership card or FitSense App.

Temperature Checks

At reception, we will check your skin temperature. If this is excessive, you will be asked to wait for 10 minutes and then be re-tested. Unfortunately, you will be denied entry if your temperature reading exceeds this upper limit for a second time. Please respect our team if they ask you to refrain from entering the club and support us in being compliant with these new guidelines.

Cashless

In order to reduce contact with other people and reduce the spread of COVID-19, we have made the decision to go cashless for the safety of staff and members.

Gym Areas & Classes

There will be a new class timetable with effect from 27th July. Following government guidelines, class numbers will have to be reduced. Full information will be available on the timetable.

Class attendance is strictly by appointments only. You will need to arrive 5 minutes before classes start, suitably dressed and use the hand sanitisers before and after class. We will also ensure that there will be no overlap between classes.

Equipment and CV machines will be spaced to achieve social distancing and the gym floor will have prominent floor markings; we do ask you to follow them to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 & for your own safety. Please note, squash courts and gym water fountains will be in use for the filling of water bottles only, however we do urge you to bring your own drinks.

Pool Area

At this time, use of the pool will be by appointments only (further information on how to book will follow next week). Please arrive ready to swim (with clothes over the top). Each session booked will be 45 minutes. There are strict guidelines for the maximum numbers in the pool at any one time. For now, the pool will be open for Adult & lane swimming only.

Under current guidance, the Steam room, jacuzzi and sauna will remain closed.

Showers and Changing Areas

These areas will only be available to swimmers and members with disabilities ONLY. However, we do discourage people from using these areas unless absolutely necessary.

All communal showers will remain closed. We will be reducing lockers to maintain social distancing.

Ventilation

We have increased our ventilation systems to 100% fresh air, to reduce the transmission of COVID-19. This will operate 24 hours per day.

Cleaning, Disinfecting and Sanitisation

Once entering the club, you will be asked to sanitise your hands. There will be further hand sanitising stations throughout the club and we strongly advise using them regularly.

Following that, we will have cleaning stations in the gym & studios. We do ask you help us keep the club clean and wipe down all equipment before and after use.

Our house keeping team will make sure the club is regularly deep cleaned with anti-viral disinfectant (every 4 hours), with continuous cleaning overnight & high touch areas. All cleaning stations and touch points will remain topped up daily.

Direct Debits and Subscriptions

We will open on 27 July 27 and you will not have to pay any fees for the rest of July, as this is covered by a credit, we have given you from the payment you made in March.

We will start taking Direct Debit payments from August 1st and go ahead with 1st of every month like before.

Some members may have cancelled their Direct Debit following the closure; however, you are able to reinstate the DD in a matter of seconds by going onto our FitSense App. Further information will follow next week.

Be the Best, Together!

Staying safe is everyone’s responsibility and we must all play our part; therefore, we would ask our members to please observe the following:

If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you must not attend the Club. You must follow the government guidelines under these circumstances. A reminder of the main symptoms:

  • high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

The use of Face Masks is currently optional, but we recommend that you wear one wherever possible. We will review government guidance at all times and inform you of any changes.

We will be preparing a short video for all members to view, before they visit the Club for the first time, to ensure that you are fully aware of these changes. This can be viewed next week via Diana’s Health and Fitness Facebook page. Stay Active, Stay Alert & Be the Best Together!

Thank-you for your continued support,

Steve Campbell
